I am pleased to inform you that we have shipped our seven all electric IVT’s for the Lunar Rover to NASA in accordance with NASA’s Purchase Order.
Torvec now will be working with NASA engineers on the final assembly and installation of the IVT’s into the Lunar Rover. We anticipate some of this work will take place in Rochester and some at NASA’s facilities in Houston.
As you are aware, Torvec provided seven IsoTorque® differentials back in July 2007 and with the ever evolving design of Lunar Rover, Torvec chose to furnish NASA with an electric variant of its patented IVT design ( US # 6,748,817) used with great success in the Dodge diesel test vehicle. The patented all electric design will allow for smooth acceleration and make better use of battery power than traditional step transmissions.
We look forward to our continued relationship with NASA and its historic effort to return to the moon and then to Mars.
